You play an active part in strategy execution
As HAMLET PROTEIN’s new Poultry Nutritionist, you will provide full nutritional and technical support to the HAMLET PROTEIN sales team and to our customer base, drawing on your expertise and deep understanding of the poultry feed sector. You will be he point person in initiating, planning and executing our feed trials in North America, influence product development by interfacing with R&D, and identify new opportunities for HAMLET PROTEIN product applications.
As part of a global team of highly skilled nutritionists, you bring the regional expertise in poultry nutrition. You will be working closely with the other members of our team, many of whom are PhD and Master graduates, and with our customers, who we often meet face-to-face to discuss the best solution to their needs.
As our subject matter expert, you add value to our business and our products by delivering public presentations and educational seminars, as well as educating existing customers and sales colleagues on maximizing the nutritional and technical properties of our products in feed formulations.
You combine in-depth field knowledge with market focus
To succeed in this position, you have a PhD in Animal Physiology, Poultry Science, Poultry Nutrition or an allied field with experience in Ration Formulation. In addition, preferably 5-10 years of commercial experience in diet formulation, feed ingredients or feed additives sales. You have a proven track record in successful business development, a deep insight into the poultry market, as well as relevant customer relationships, and an impressive industry network with poultry producers, integrators and feed manufacturers.
You communicate fluently in English and use your excellent communication and presentation skills to forge solid working relationships with the sales team and our customers. As a person, you are analytical in your approach to problem solving, and organization and detail orientation is second nature to you. So is the Microsoft Office Suite, formulation software, and Skype for Business.
We offer a competitive salary, a 401K and benefits package. You will be working from your U.S. based home office and should expect to spend 25-50% of your time on domestic business travel. International travel ad hoc. We do not have a re-location package avaliable. You must be located in North America.

As Sales Manager, you are mainly responsible for the sales of the poultry and piglets segment within The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Through relationship management, you translate customer needs into sales. You analyze and report market developments, trends, new business opportunities and achieved sales results. Together with your colleagues in sales, marketing and R&D you work on strengthening HAMLET PROTEIN image as a leading supplier of proteins within the piglets and poultry industry. You will report directly to the CCO.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Active sales of high-value soya protein and management of the sales channel structure;
- Focus on servicing existing customers as well as expanding the customer base and markets;
- Make strategic plans for market development;
- Maintain close corporation with the Feed Application and Technical Support Teams. Manage the sales portfolio of Dutch, Belgium and German markets;
- Manage distributors;
- Set budgets and estimates;
- Create efficient reports including visit reports, monthly reporting and ad-hoc market reports;
- Develop a competitor analysis.
- Have a relevant technical degree, preferably within agriculture/animal nutrition;
- Have at least 5 years experience with Key Account Management within the animal nutrition industry and success with national/international B2B sales;
- Speak and write English, German and Dutch fluently;
- Understand the feed industry and have technical or nutritional knowledge on monogastric;
- Understand the customers’ demands and challenges;
- Naturally think outside the box, seek possibilities and find solutions, no-nonsense mentality;
- Inspiring and competent communicator;
- Team player who gets on at all levels of an organization;
- Are capable of closing the order and of working strategically with markets/customers.
